At the beginning of October, scientists from the Fraunhofer IMW discussed Saxony's economic situation and the corresponding role of digitization with representatives of the State Ministries for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport (SMWA) as well as for Science and the Arts (SMWK) in Dresden. The symposium “Digital Transformation and Innovation” at the SMWA facilitated this debate.
During its contribution regarding the “Future of (Digital) Value Creation”, the delegation of the Fraunhofer IMW showed how the institute is currently supporting Saxon companies in their digital development. In this context, Prof. Dr. Heiko Gebauer, project manager Data Mining and Value Creation, reported on the cooperation with Saxon companies in pilot projects. Findings from the project work are that new (digital) value is created when digital topics are conveyed in a simple and understandable way, and when room for experimentation is created.
